Goal Progress - Week Two January

Hey. How's it going?
Are you keeping up with your goals and/or resolutions?

Sticking with my GOALS for the year (woohoo!)
this is my progress to date.

And THIS is where I left off last week.

Work continues on my new-to-me sewing cabinet.

Primer

A little bit of primer in my yard.

To tell you the truth, I've gone overboard this week.
I skipped walks to work on this cabinet.
I can't help it, I'm excited to see the final product and I love putting it together.

Spool Holder progress

It's a spool holder.

The postage stamp sewing machine cover is also close to finished.
I still have to make the liner, attach the handle,
finish the bottom edge and make adjustments.
It's funny how this thing changes weekly.
First I thought I'd try a small quilt. Then a quilted cover.
Now it won't be quilted but more structured.

That's what you get when you're just winging it, right?

I think next month I'll work on something with a pattern.

Unfinished Sewing Machine Cover

That's also a little sneak peak of the cabinet behind the sewing machine.
Check out that fabric! It's vintage. My Mom gave it to me years ago.
I see it in my stash all the time.
I could never force myself to cut into it though,
it's worn in places and full of snags, holes and fading spots.
Now I get to see it all the time.

Oh, what? You can't see it?
How about this...

Vintage fabric in my cabinet

Still lots to do.

Now the walking... I know, I know,
I said it was the most important thing to me, to get out on walks alone.
I still feel like it's super crazy important
but for some reason (sewing cabinet) I haven't been out as much as I'd like.
Remember when I said it wasn't about the exercise,
it's about time to myself, to be alone with my thoughts?
I guess the sewing cabinet redo is the same.

I'm still learning.
I'm going to force myself to put down the hammer, paint, mod podge,
whatever and get my butt out on the trails.

The subject this week on Illustration Friday is "grounded".
I'll post mine soon.
Man, I really love learning Illustrator.
I seriously need to figure out some shortcuts though,
it seems like everything takes me waaaaaaay too long.
Edited to add: Posted HERE.

We're very actively searching for a PUPPY!
We're trying to rescue a pup and find one that fits our family, they go so fast!
We've missed two puppies by a few hours.
Literally.
I'm pretty sure the one we're looking at now might WILL be ours.

A fuzzy boy in a very fuzzy picture from the rescue shelter.
They said his name is Spearmint.
Awwwwwwwwwww.

So, how are you doing? Keeping up with yourself?
Are you following through or wishing you could follow through?
With my walks, I've been wishing.
This week I'll be better.

Great Job! I am sticking to my goals and its great. I joined a bootcamp with a co-worker. We work out M-W-F 6-7am. Today was only day 2 of the 2 weeks but I'm happy and feel motivated. It seems like such a new year-cliche-goal but its working. I have changed my eating to go with the classes as well. 3 meals and 2 snacks.

There's something so great about the New Year and the possibilities that are before you. This time I WILL folow through and accomplish my goals.

I'm so happy (and jealous) that you are going to get a puppy! I know it'll all work out AND he/she will be a big influence on your walks :)
