IF: Twirl

Illustration Friday
Twirl is the word.

IF:Twirl

She didn't care if the park was closing;
Christy wanted to TWIRL all day and night.

I attempted to make this look like a scrapbook page.
I've never scrap-booked but I've seen the aisle at Michael's
and some of those goodies look like fun to play with and layer.

I was really stuck this week.
I only have Wednesdays to work on Illustration Friday and didn't plan well.
I thought spaghetti, twirling hair, batons, and ballerinas.
Then I thought I'd combine them all.
Uh...I really like my "learning Illustrator day".
So when I sat down to sketch my grand plan,
I put my pencil to paper and this ridiculous, horrible little sketch appeared...

Well, at least I had a starting point.

This is for Week 4 of working on our GOALS.
Feels so good.
Plus posting is a great way to be accountable.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Isn't that funny. When you said Twirl I was thinking about a merry-go-round as something more abstract.

I can hear her screaming out 'weeeeeeeeeeeee' as she twirls and whirls... a very good choice of perspective!

Hey everyone, THANK YOU!

Well done, especially with only Wednesday to devote to it. I find the idea is the most time consuming part of an illustration. Let's hope she didn't eat fairy floss and a dagwood dog before that ride... for her parents sake.

Fantastic idea and illo! Love the detail of the chains, the bright colours and her expression - half laughing half screaming? I want to go to a fair...
