Illustration Friday
Popularity is the word.

IF: Popularity

This week I decided to draw and color everything by hand.
The big plan was to use my awesome Prismacolor markers from college.
Okay, maybe I was too optimistic thinking they'd all still be good...
I've had them about 10 years.
Out of 60 or so, only 9 worked. Duh, Angel.

New plan- colored pencils!

Another teensy misstep, I'm still figuring out how to scan artwork.

I tried out a couple online tutorials and nah, still looks weird.
The scan is missing the smooth,
full color of the original I have sitting on my desk.
I need to play around with the settings some more
because I really liked using my rusty ol' drawing hands
and would love to continue doing digital and hand drawn illustrations.

I'm lucky to be able to exercise creative muscles and have time to practice.
I'm grateful for Illustration Friday and so happy to "meet" so many of you.

Harold IS cool - especially those thick black glasses and skivvy (obviously why the cheerleader is going berserk...). Its great to do some hand colouring isn't it? I also have some old (ancient) PMS markers which are pretty much all dead - I just hang onto them because I love their smell... ;)

While the colors may not look vibrant to you they look great to me! My fav part is Harold's head and esp. his eyebrows.

A fun illustration! I've only recently started using my coloured pencils after a really long time, they need sharpening but they don't fade but I did love blending the colours together! I shall look forward to seeing what you do. :o)
