Each week I blog progress on monthly goals.
If you'd like to see how I decided on these specific goals, please start HERE.
April has been an easy month.
There hasn't been a lot of work involved...yet.
Thrift/Refurbishing:
I've decided to paint my kitchen chairs.
A few of you (dear readers) suggested I paint them light.
We debated for a while in our house about the color. I won.
Tyler likes the idea of red.
Ella loves yellow.
Sam named every color of the rainbow.
I'm going with antique white, the same color as the table legs.
I did promise to bring in some of their preferred colors with seat cushions.

First coat of primer. I sense the chair is smiling, don't you think so?
Sewing:
I'm making a blanket for some of my closest friends, Jake and Lavina.
They live in Alaska and thankfully visit often.
They've seen the blankets I put together for my kids,
made out of my favorite baby and toddler clothes they wore.
They have three gorgeous, adorable and sweet little boys all under 5 years old.
You can see their family and the boys on a captivating blog
called Logbook Wasilla Alaska Beyond by Bill Hess, the boys Grandpa.

Sam's blanket.
Made years ago when I was still figuring out how to sew properly.
Because the boys have all shared clothing,
I'm making one blanket with the favorites Lavina picked out.
I'm anxiously waiting for the box to show up on my doorstep.
Honestly, I'm a little nervous about cutting up someones treasures!
I'm confident it will turn out beautifully, made with lots of love.
I do love their family and I'm just crazy about the boys!

Moosh (our dog) and I get out all times of the day and night.
Running/Jogging/Walking:
Still going strong.
I'm going to start splitting up my goals into separate posts.
You see, I'm going to Hawaii in a couple months
(girls trip- My mom, myself and my daughter)
and have a few issues I'd like to take care of before I'm in a bathing suit!
I'm bumping up my workouts and hope to drop 10-12 pounds.
I've added more fitness goals to my list and think MAYBE it would happen faster
if I'm publicly detailing my progress.
I'll keep Thrift/Refurbish and Sewing together.
Fitness and Drawing are going to be separate.

A walking bridge over the freeway.
I think it's supposed to look like mountains.
Drawing:
This week on Illustration Friday the word is return.
While out on a recent jog with Moosh,
a super-fat, senior chihuahua started snorting and chasing (best she could) after us.
Her owner, started calling for her to return.
Her name? Chigga Marie!
So funny. He obviously over-dotes on his sweet, protective companion.
I'm debating drawing them today
(my designated drawing time) for the the Illustration Friday theme.

March Results, April Goals
Well, we're a quarter of the way through the year.
Have your goals changed, like my fitness goals?
Are you surprised by what has become more important?
Do you feel like you're struggling or accomplishing?
If you're struggling,
please don't forget, baby steps will get you where you want to be.
Of course, it doesn't take a month to do some of the projects I've chosen to do.
Actually, I could bust a few of them out in a weekend.
I don't have a weekend to devote to one project
so I break them up into a few hours here and there.
Whether you're struggling or accomplishing, I'd love to hear from you.
Please leave a comment (with a link to your blog if you have one),
I'd love to learn more about you, hear your opinions, interact and see what you're up to.
7 Sweet Comments:
hello lovely lady~
you are so gifted so don't be nervous. I know the blanket will just be beautiful...
Hugs and love to you all...
Awww, thank Lavina!
The box was waiting for me today, it's here and ready to be CUT UP!
:)
I'll be gentle.
xo to you and yours
I love seeing all of your wonderful project. I have a blanket that my mom put together for each of my kiddos and it is of my favorite baby blankets they had.
Enjoy your Thursday!
Thank you Kelli. It really is so special, right? Home made is the best, especially when made by a loved one. Your kiddos are lucky to have received such meaningful gifts. Honestly, I'm probably going to have a hard time letting my kids take their blankets when they're adults... :)
The blanket is fabric love! Oh my, that is going to be such a priceless treasure. And the chair looks fabulous. Can't wait to see it paired with the table. Cool bridge!
Bella- that bridge is pretty cool. I stare at it often.
I'm hoping the blanket turns out as well as I imagine, filled with love.
Can't wait to see the chairs.
Trying your baby steps for a few things. I think it is working better than trying to go all out at things.
