Goal Progress - Week Three April

Each week I blog progress on monthly goals.

Hello Spring!
I know many of you are getting snow and rain where you live.
Honestly, for a lot of the year I wish I was getting your weather.
But right now, wow, I'm in love with being outside.
Listening to the birds, they're all twitter-pated.
Flowers are in bloom.
The desert is alive and vibrant.


I've been playing around with my camera settings.

Okay Angel, you showed everyone the pretty flowers.
Now,
on to my goals!

Thrift/Refurbishing:

I'm refinishing my kitchen chairs.
The last two (let's call them C and D) chairs were so patient, just waiting around,
watching their buddies get a makeover.
Now it's their turn.


Begging me to put down the camera and finally sand them.

But what is my family sitting on?
The first two chairs (A and B) are still getting their last coats of paint
and protective polyurethane.

Without any kitchen chairs to sit on, I had to put one of my kids to work...


Scrub those outdoor chairs Sam!
Earn your keep around here!
Oh, you know I'm kidding. He wanted to help.

Now we look like a Whack-A-Mole arcade game.
Sitting on outdoor chairs, a stool and a desk chair,  
everyone sits at different heights during dinner.
I have to prop Sam up with coloring books!

Sewing:

I'm making a memory blanket with favorite baby clothes for my close friends.
Still going strong!
I have the entire top done.
Now I'm working on the embellishments.
Not going to say too much,
I'd like the final reveal to be a surprise for Jake, Lavina and the boys
(the family I'm making the blanket for).
This week I'll be shopping for backing fabrics.

Ooooh, not much of a peek, I know.
But (I think) the wait will be worth it.
