"Chigga-Marie, return to me!"
Jogging with my dog last week,
we passed a man with an ugly ol' fat chihuahua.
(ugly in a beautiful sort of way)
She started snorting and snuffing.
She attempted to chase after us, with very little progress.
I thought it was adorable when this burly man started calling to her.
Chigga, Chigga-Marie, Chigga, get back here!
Chigga, Chigga-Marie, where you going?
I tried to veer away from my usual preference for blues and greens.
Quick pencil sketches, redrawn, changed and colored in Illustrator.
I like the dude...the dog, not so much.

Interesting characters! What a strange name for a dog?! I really like the close up of the man's face showing his crazy eyebrows and eyes and the ribbon of smoke. That chihuahua doesn't look very friendly though... small dog syndrome for sure!

I agree, you definitely captured that old guy on the porch thing! Though it looks to me like he's saying, "Get off my lawn!" Nicely done. :)
