Ella is going to share poems, songs and/or drawings once a month.
For her first selection, she chose a poem she wrote a few months ago.
When Stars Glow For Us
Children come, children come close to me
For I will tell you a tale of a surrounding sea
Where mermaids sing and bright fish flee
When twine from poles are set in the breeze.
T'was a beautiful, bright and normal day
We were starting to have the showers of May.
I saw bright colors on dull rocks and there lay
A sea serpent hurt in a most inhumane way.
The crew lifted him up, then on the ground
Turns out his arms and legs were bound
His eyes were as sad as a dog in a pound
We were so scared, no one made a sound.
I bravely stepped forward, our eyes met
"Why are you tied, not fast as a jet?"
His simple reply was a poor fishers net
And, "Please let me go, I'm not a pet."
He made a promise that if I let him go
Fireworks would be the beautiful night show
And the stars for us would brightly glow
As the moon will howl and winds will blow.
So I came to the rescue, answered his plea
Very majestic to watch him dive and flee.
He made sure of his promise, the king of the sea.
And that is the tale of the serpent and me.
Ella Says is a once a month post, where Ella gets to express her creativity with poetry, songs and drawings.

Beautiful, Ella, just beautiful. My mind is full of pictures and that is the way it should be with great poetry.
You should put some sort of protection on your work like your mother does.
I read it with the pictures in my head too :)
I have my -all rights reserved- notice on the sidebar.
Plus anything written here is copyrighted the second I hit "publish".
Doesn't stop some people though, it's part of the online world.
Love this, Ella. And I love that you're nurturing your creativity... and sharing it, too :)
Very cool poem :) Nice work Ella!
