Preparing for the next 19 days...
12 of them will be filled with family.
Tyler's Mom, brother and sis-in-law are coming to visit from California.
Tyler is playing a benefit concert.
We have Sam's parent teacher conference scheduled.
Ella will be performing in her high school talent show.
She's singing a Coldplay song!
And she's also doing the Color Run with me.

It doesn't seem like much when I type it all out- but there's A LOT of prep for each one.



I'm antsy to use my camera.

I managed to snap a few shots yesterday.
Testing out some of the skills I've learned from late night manual reading...
can't wait to take a class!

My focus was the Whomping Willow tree in the backyard.
The poor thing lost all but a few of it's leaves over the last 4 days
due to an "arctic chill" that blew through.
Even though I covered them, my peas and broccoli died too.  
I cried a little bit.
Damn record breaking freezing temperatures.

I attempted to get decent shots of the tree throughout the day,
focusing on light and shadows.
